WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

"we want women to know it is not too late and they have other options"

Women are Africa's most vulnerable population and at the same time they are the pillar of their community; the most selfless, resilient and the strongest member of the community.

These women who never get as much as a “thank you” deserve a platform and the ability to live for themselves.

PROMOTING EDUCATION

Care4Africa promotes the values of education in Guinea and Ivory Coast for young girls to strive and find their passion.

EDUCATION FOR YOUNG GIRLS

There are many young women in their 20s who never got a chance at an education early in their life and are unable to read and write. These woman have low self esteem and no ambitions other than get married and do what it takes just to survive.

This is an important program that help prevent early teenage marriages for young girls because too often families give their daughter away in marriages because of the financial burden. Help Care4Africa provide education for young girls today. >

ADULT LITERACY

At Care4Africa we believe that women of all ages should have access to an education and a chance to fulfill their dreams.

HOW ADULT LITERACY WORKS?

It's never too late to start an education. Our adult literacy program teaches basic reading and writing skills and can be a stepping stone to further education and a career.

My mother is one of most inspiring success story of the adult literacy program. As a girl born in a small village in Guinea, my mother never got the opportunity to get an education. She got married at age 14 and dedicated her whole life to her family and the many people in our community, who all call her NENE or mother in our native Fulani language. A few years ago, while in New York, at 60 years old, she learned how to read and write for the first time. I am so proud of her and she will be a great example for others that it’s never too late. Show support to Assia's mother and to many women out there looking to start an education. >

OUR SUCCESS STORY

Abiba, the oldest of 4 sisters, was 15 years old and about to enter high school,

when her father informed her that due to their financial situation, she needed to drop out of school in order to allow her younger sister to go to school. Her family had to choose between their 2 daughters who they could afford to send to school.

Considering that Abiba was 15 and able to read and write, she was the obvious choice for her parents that decided that she was ready to be married away.

Luckily, Care4africa heard of Abiba’s story and we decided to intervene and convince her parents not to give her away in marriage and instead we offered to sponsor her education.

The parents were happy because in reality they wanted Abiba to pursue an education,

they just weren’t financially able to support her education along with her siblings.  She just graduated high school and is on her way to college......
