OUR CHILDREN

"WHEN YOU JUDGE SOMEONE BASED ON A DISABILITY YOU MISS OUT ON THEIR INNER BEAUTY, GIFTS & UNIQUENESS"

Care4africa is an advocate for children living with special needs. Our goal is to shine a light on the many challenges they face just because of their condition.

There is a stigma and often these kids are ostracized or abandoned by their families. They need a voice because they matter just like any other child.

ANGE'S STORY

"Upon meeting Ange at a giveback event in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, we were instantly drawn to this story," Assia Greenbaum

All children matter, this summer at a Care4Africa event

in the Ivory Coast, we met 11 year old Ange, who is living with Hydrocephaly.

We felt an instant connection with him and were heartbroken to learn that he was abandoned by his father because of his illness and now lives with his mother and 2 sisters. He wasn’t enrolled in school because his mother couldn’t afford to send him to the special school he required due to his condition.

He told us that going to school was his dream as he just

wanted to feel like the other kids. He longed to feel normal and not kept at home simply because of his illness.

He touched our hearts, and we were determined to help.

We are happy to report that Care4Africa has enrolled little Ange in a special school for children with disabilities and he is doing extremely well and for the first time, feels like a normal kid. For his 12th birthday we surprised Ange with a birthday party (his first ever!) where the whole village showed up and honored him for the amazing person that he is.
